Charity at Trinity

Charity Week burst into action at Trinity this week, hoping to beat the previous year’s record of £5,000 raised for good causes. Fundraising events included a talent contest, a baking competition and a sponsored swim.
On the official Charity Day on Friday 17th March, every form runs an activity to raise money for charity. These events range from making smoothies, bobbing apples and even throwing wet sponges at the headmaster. During the Trinity Bake Off on Wednesday 15th March, competitors had to bake a cake at home. There is always a theme, and this year it was “cakes from around the world”. The winner was George from 1C with his cherry sponge. “I am so proud that I have won it,” said George. “It was great fun, and I know my parents will be so proud of me!” The Trinity Talent Competition on Tuesday was also a great experience, and there were so many different talents. The winner was Luca from JC, singing a song by Adele. Luca said he was “so surprised” to win. “There were many great competitors that I thought were amazing. I just can’t believe it!” he said. Mrs Dixon, the Head of Charity, was interviewed about her thoughts on Charity Week. “It is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved, and everything helps. There is something for everybody, and if there isn’t, it will have already been planned for next year!” |
